Kids Corner

Traditional Play Dough Recipe

1 cup flour
1/2 cup salt
1 cup warm water
2 teaspoons of cream of tartar
1 tablespoon cooking oil
Food colouring

Instructions

Mix all of the ingredients in a saucepan and cook it over a medium heat for a few minutes whilst stirring all the time. It takes a few minutes for the mixture to change from goop into proper dough so at this stage it can be tempting to add more flour but resist the temptation and give it another minute or so.

Once the dough is formed allow it to cool for a few minutes before kneading it into a smooth consistency.

Testimonials

After touring most of the preschools in Naperville, I was impressed with the warm, nurturing, creative and educational environment provided by School Readiness Center. Three years have passed since I sent my daughter to School Readiness Center and I have only had positive experiences. The teachers are engaging and caring and my daughter was well prepared for kindergarten. Currently, my son is attending the school and I feel so fortunate to have found such a great place for him to learn and grow.

Our son went to School Readiness Center here in Naperville. He is our youngest child and we really wanted to find a good pre-school that would prepare him for kindergarten and that we would be comfortable with. The staff and administration of School Readiness Center were  outstanding. This was our best preschool experience. The class sizes are perfect for learning       and the playground and premises conducive for playing. Our son truly felt at home there.  He loves Mrs. Folliard and all the teachers. He made a very smooth transition into kindergarten       because of all the attention he got at School Readiness. Now, even though he is in second grade, every time we pass the Center, he points to it proudly and says it is STILL his school.

This is my first review. I don’t usually do reviews on the internet but I have to do this one.  For me this is one of the best preschools in Naperville. It is very organized. I have my oldest       daughter attending there and she enjoys it a lot. She is happy going there, and learning so much. She is almost writing and reading. Socially, they have helped her develop good       communication skills. She is bilingual and the teachers are so patient with her. I am definitely planning to put my youngest there too. All the teachers are very loving and kind, especially       Mrs. Nutt, Mrs. Sowa and Mrs. Gorski. God bless them for sharing their love with children.

My daughter is in her second year at School Readiness Center and we are so happy there!  The teachers are all caring and fun people. My daughter said that, "Mrs. Gorski teaches us       fascinating things." She is comfortable going to school every day and has made some really nice friendships there. I am amazed at the things she is learning each day, I feel very       blessed to have found Amy and her school. I love the drop off process, the children get out of the car and the teacher leads them in to the building. It is stress free for me as I have a       younger son and one on the way. I couldn't imagine having to get him out of the car each day, twice a day for the routine.

School Readiness Center provides a warm, nurturing, creative and compassionate environment for preschoolers while incorporating kindergarten readiness skills and structure to their daily activities. The communication between staff and parents is wonderful. Both of my children attended SRC and every interaction with the director, teachers and staff has been positive.       I give School Readiness Center my highest recommendation. If you are looking for a great environment for your preschooler to learn and grow, you will find it at School Readiness       Center.

School Readiness Center is a great preschool. My children have gained the skills needed for Kindergarten. The teachers are knowledgeable, caring, and kind. The owner is enthusiastic and provides a great environment for both staff and students. My children loved preschool and still talk about how much they had and sing the songs they learned. I highly recommend!

Both of my boys went to School Readiness Center and I found it to be a very warm and nurturing environment. The teachers were genuine and very caring with the children. The       boys couldn't wait to get to school and they always came out with big smiles excited to tell me about their days. I was really happy with this school. Both my kids were properly prepared       for kindergarten. Both of their Kindergarten teachers were complimentary of  heir preparedness and of the School Readiness Center as well. This made me feel really good about choosing this school.
